In an interview to , Ms Van Cleave has spoken at length about standing in as the nude version of Lena Headey, the actress who plays Cersei Lannister on the show, in a gruelling scene that involved walking through crowded streets while being pelted with food and simulated bodily fluids by angry, abusive onlookers.

Born in London and raised in Virginia, she spent her youth in numerous theatrical and musical productions and trained intensively at the Shenandoah Valley Governor's School for the Arts.

She opted to use a double because she was pregnant at the time of filming and also because she wanted to focus on the emotions in the scene.
